How Often Should You Get a Haircut?

It depends on the cut. Shorter styles show growth faster, so the closer the cut, the sooner you need to come back.

By style

  • Skin fades: every 2 to 3 weeks
  • Tapers: every 3 to 4 weeks
  • Classic scissor cuts: every 4 to 6 weeks
  • Longer hair: every 6 to 8 weeks to keep the ends and shape clean
  • Beards: reset the shape with every haircut, and touch up the neckline at home in between

Signs it’s time

  • The blend on your fade looks like a line instead of a gradient
  • Hair is curling over your ears or collar
  • Your hairline line-up has gone soft
  • Your hair won’t sit the way it did the week you got it cut
